Dr. Ryan is a Cum Laude graduate of University of the Sciences.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology with a minor in Exercise Physiology and a Doctor of Physical Therapy.  He completed his senior thesis research on a Comparison of Bicep Strength Gains Between Elastic Bands vs Free Weight Resistance Training.

He has advanced post graduate training in the McKenzie method, a specialized way of diagnosing and treating lumbar and thoracic spine injury.  He holds dual degree certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and as a Certified Personal Trainer.  His current research interests include physical rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff therapy protocols following surgical Bankart repair, and pain management using lumbar stability and multifidi muscle strengthening for lower back pain.

Dr. Ryan’s clinical evaluation and treatment methods are based on evidence-based protocols strongly favoring manual therapy and therapeutic exercise interventions.  Always learning more about his field, he enjoys doing continuing education courses about pain management for the lumbar spine and rehabilitation emphasizing conservative management of rotator cuff tears.  Dr. Ryan holds Basic Life Support certifications in adult, child, and infant CPR and AED use from the American Red Cross.

In his free time, he enjoys photography, exercise and sports, along with spending time with his family.
